چکیده
Abstract Background/Aim Measuring how hernia meshes shrink after implantation is a commonly used parameter in vivo mesh testing. We aim to use fibroblast populated collagen matrices (FPCMs) and their contraction assess different shrink. Methods/Materials 1 millilitre circular FPCMs were formed 24 well plates. Different placed halfway through the so that they embedded. Matrices seeded with immortalised human fibroblasts, allowed set then separated form plate using sterile needle. Gels cultured media at 37 degrees 5% CO2 for seven days contract naturally. Each day, photographs taken area of calculated. Results When comparing with/without mesh, It was noted significantly greater observed without - which hampered contraction. meshes, lightweight larger pores lead (54% Vs 45%) shrinkage (55% 20%) compared heavyweight smaller pores. Conclusion present cheap, standardised unique technique measuring vitro.

A mesh generation procedure to simulate bimaterials
It is difficult to develop an algorithm which is able to generate the appropriate mesh around the interfaces in bimaterials. In this study, a corresponding algorithm is proposed for this class of unified structures made from different materials with arbitrary shapes. The non-uniform mesh is generated adaptively based on advancing front technique available in Abaqus software. Implementing severa...
متن کاملMatrix metalloproteinase inhibition modulates fibroblast-mediated matrix contraction and collagen production in vitro.
PURPOSE To investigate the effect of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibition on fibroblast-mediated matrix contraction and production. METHODS Free-floating fibroblast-populated type I collagen lattices were prepared with human Tenon's capsule fibroblasts. Lattice areas were photographed and digitally analyzed to indicate the degree of lattice contraction. Quantitative competitive reverse t...

OBJECTIVE Mesh implants are widely used in surgery for female pelvic organ prolapse. Mesh shrinkage is thought to be common and caused by immunological processes. In this longitudinal study, we examined mesh dimensions at 2 time points after implantation. STUDY DESIGN We analyzed translabial 4-dimensional ultrasound (US) volume datasets of women seen 3-52 months after anterior compartment mes...
متن کاملMesh Networks for Digital Inclusion - Testing OLPC's XO Mesh Implementation
This paper describes the planned tests and preliminary results obtained in the first field tests using OLPC’s XO laptop. The XO laptop mesh network is being evaluated to test its suitability to work in dense environments, where many laptops will be present and competing for the same gateway, and in sparse environments, where connectivity between pairs of laptops will be of foremount importance ...
